North Harbour Community Patrol

The eyes and ears for the NZ Police

Me mahi tahi tātou mo te orgango o te katoa.
We should work together for the wellbeing of everyone.

North Harbour Community Patrol have been operating under a Memorandum of Understanding with the New Zealand Police for the past 16 years. A charitable organisation staffed by 50 plus volunteers providing mobile crime prevention and community reassurance patrols across the 44 suburbs of the North Shore of Auckland.

Patrolling around the North Shore in two marked patrol vehicles, we look for any suspicious activity, anti-social behaviour, vandalism or civil disobedience – reporting our observations real-time to the NZ Police. Patrollers assist at accidents, incidents, civil emergencies, search and rescue – beside all emergency services.

What we do

We assist emergency services as and when required at road crash incidents, fire, search and rescue and other community crisis.

By patrolling in marked vehicles we are highly visible in the community and help with crime prevention.

As Community Patrol volunteers we are deployed by the Waitemata East Police to address crime areas in a real time situation.
